Kuwaiti couple held with drugs – Youth hurt in mall brawl

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: A Kuwaiti couple was arrested in Salmiya area in possession of 30 narcotic pills that are locally known as ‘Rosh’ and five sachets of heroin. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Salmiya area at night when they stopped a vehicle based on suspicions and checked the details of the couple to discover they are Kuwaitis and not related to each other.

When securitymen asked them to step out of the vehicle, they noticed a sachet fall from the lap of the woman. They checked it to find drugs inside. They conducted further search to find 30 narcotic pills that are locally known as ‘Rosh’ and five sachets of heroin. The suspects were arrested and referred with the confiscated drugs to the General Department for Drug Control for necessary legal action.

Mall brawl: A Kuwaiti citizen in his 20s sustained injuries during a quarrel that broke out among three young men inside Nugra Complex. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the quarrel, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and referred the injured citizen to Mubarak Hospital for treatment. The other two suspects were arrested and referred to the nearest police station where investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the quarrel.

Unpaid debt: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Fahaheel area as he was wanted by law for payment of KD 6,000 to a company. Three Egyptian expatriates were also arrested for their involvement in financial fraud cases. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were at a security checkpoint in Fahaheel area when they stopped a Kuwaiti citizen and checked his details to discover he is wanted for failing to pay off a debt worth KD 6,000.

They also arrested three Egyptians who are wanted by law for financial fraud. All suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, securitymen arrested an Asian expatriate in Abu Halifa area for violating the residency law.
