Kuwaiti company secures contract in UAE

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: According to MEED magazine, Mohammed Abdul Mohsen Al-Kharafi& Sons Company has secured the contract for the construction of two residential towers in the Emirate of Al-Shaqa, flanking the Teatro 2 Arts Center, reports Al-Anba daily. The Arad Real Estate Company has initiated the construction of Teatro 2 residences in the Aljada area, and the project involving two towers adjacent to the Teatro Arts Center will be undertaken by Al-KharafiCompany.

The completion date for the project is set for the end of 2024. The local architecture firm Dar Consult is serving as the project consultant. ARAD announced plans for Teatro 2, a new arts center in the Aljada community in Sharjah, with Japanese architect Tadao Ando appointed as the design consultant. The arts center, featuring a capacity of 2,000 seats, is slated for completion in 2027, spanning 24,154 square meters and comprising a hall, exhibition space, and an event area.

Tadao Ando is also the design consultant for ARADA’s Armani Beach Residences project on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. In January, ARADA awarded a 475 million dirhams ($129 million) contract to Gulf Asia Contracting Company for the construction of The Vida Aljada Hotel complex, including a 175-room hotel, 255 residential units, and 149 hotel apartments in the Aljada Cultural District. The Naseej District, part of the project, also includes a museum.
