KUWAIT CITY, Jun 29: A Kuwaiti citizen has been released on bail after being questioned over allegations that he insulted a doctor while the physician was on duty at Farwaniya Hospital. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete legal procedures.
According to a security source, the incident began after a Kuwaiti doctor contacted the Ministry of Interior's operations room, claiming he had been verbally abused by a patient. A police patrol was dispatched to the hospital, where officers detained the suspect and transferred him to Farwaniya Police Station for questioning.
During interrogation, the citizen denied insulting or using offensive language toward the doctor. He stated that he had only objected to the doctor's professional performance and had not directed any personal insults at him.
The doctor, however, reaffirmed his complaint, maintaining that he was verbally insulted while carrying out his duties. He also provided investigators with the names and contact details of several witnesses who were present during the incident to help clarify the circumstances and resolve the conflicting accounts.
The case was officially registered and referred to the Public Prosecution, which will review the investigation findings, witness statements and determine the appropriate legal action.
