KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10 : The General Directorate for Drug Control has arrested a Kuwaiti citizen in the Doha area following surveillance and investigation operations that allegedly uncovered his cultivation of marijuana and possession of narcotics for trafficking and personal use.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the operation was carried out by the International Control Department after investigators gathered information indicating the suspect was involved in cultivating marijuana and possessing illegal substances.
The investigation led authorities to identify the location of the farm where the marijuana was allegedly being cultivated. After completing the necessary surveillance and search procedures, security personnel arrested the suspect and seized narcotics, cultivation equipment and a substantial amount of cash.
Items seized
- 6 kilograms of marijuana
- 250 grams of hashish
- Equipment used to cultivate marijuana
- KD 17,820 in cash
Authorities said the suspect was apprehended along with the seized narcotics and equipment following the completion of search and investigation procedures.
The suspect and all seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures and complete the case in accordance with Kuwait’s laws.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its continued efforts to combat drug trafficking, possession and cultivation and to protect society from the dangers associated with narcotics.
