KUWAIT CITY, July 12: The Criminal Court has acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of armed robbery at a phone store. The incident involved the use of a "pistol" to steal a valuable smartphone. During the trial, a salesman from the store provided testimony, stating that an individual wearing a face mask entered the shop and brandished a "pistol," which prevented him from resisting. The perpetrator then stole a mobile device worth 250 dinars.

Presenting the defense on behalf of the accused, lawyer Esmat Al-Kharboutli argued that the necessary elements of the crime were absent, and that the client had no connection to the seized items or the incident.

After considering the evidence and arguments presented, the Criminal Court rendered a verdict of acquittal. The court found that there was insufficient evidence to establish the accused's involvement in the armed robbery. Therefore, the citizen was cleared of all charges.
