KUWAIT CITY, Jan 3: The Criminal Division of the Court of First Instance acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of attacking his female friend and having non-consensual sex with her inside her apartment. According to the case file, the Public Prosecution accused the suspect of physically attacking the victim and raping her.

The victim’s friend who was sleeping in one of the rooms in the same flat woke up after hearing the screams of the victim and the housemaid. She rushed to her friend’s bedroom to find her screaming for help and demanding the suspect to leave. When the suspect shouted at her to leave the room, she left and did not know what happened later.

During the court session, Lawyer Azbi Al-Namran insisted that the allegations against his client are malicious, indicating the lack of evidences against his client. He said the testimony of the witness is not sufficient to convict his client, adding that investigations have revealed that the testimony of the witness is false and the suspect had denied all allegations during the investigations.
