KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Misdemeanor Court acquitted the Kuwaiti owner of a commercial company from charges of bringing workers into the country without needing them. Representing the defendant was Lawyer Zayed Al-Suwait, who said during the court session that his client’s indictment was invalid due to ignorance of the company’s data. He stressed that the elements of the crime attributed to his client were invalid, given that his company exists and carries out its work in a known location, in addition to its obligation to pay the salaries of its employees. As a result of this defense, the court acquitted the accused after previously ruling in absentia to impose a fine of KD 8,000 (KD 2,000 for each worker) on him.
