Kuwaiti banks close January 18 for Isra and Mi’raj

Kuwait Banking Association confirms next Sunday closure for Isra and Mi’raj.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: Kuwait’s banks will close next Sunday, January 18, to mark the anniversary of Isra and Mi’raj, the Kuwait Banking Association announced on Sunday.

In a statement, the association said the closure comes as part of the official holiday commemorating Isra and Mi’raj for the year 1447 AH. The association’s Deputy Secretary General, Sheikha Al-Essa, confirmed that the decision is in line with a circular issued by the Central Bank of Kuwait.

Banks will resume normal operations on Monday, January 19, according to the statement.
