KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: The Criminal Court has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen and a Gulf national to seven years in prison each for forging Kuwaiti citizenship documents. The court also ordered them to pay a fine of KD 599,000, which is double the amount they had illegally obtained through salaries, bank loans, and housing allowances under false pretenses.
The case came to light following detailed investigations by the Citizenship Investigations Department and the Genetic Fingerprinting Unit, which uncovered discrepancies in the family lineage records. The genetic analysis revealed that the individual listed as the son was not biologically related to the alleged father, confirming the falsification of citizenship documents.
Authorities emphasized that such acts constitute a serious violation of Kuwait’s nationality laws and warned that all cases of forged family affiliations or falsified documents will be pursued with strict legal action.
