KUWAIT CITY, Sep 2: A dispute between two neighbors has escalated into a police case after a citizen allegedly entered his neighbor’s property and took a surveillance camera, claiming the device was monitoring his home and violating his privacy.
According to the report, the citizen accused his neighbor of climbing onto the roof of his diwaniya, entering the residence and removing the camera. He subsequently filed a complaint alleging theft and property damage, and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.
During questioning, the accused reportedly acknowledged taking the camera but claimed he did so because it was positioned in a way that allowed it to “see” his home, which he considered an invasion of his privacy.
The Deputy Public Prosecutor has ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to conduct further inquiries into the allegations, including determining whether the accused trespassed on the property, burgled the camera and caused the reported damage.
The investigation is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the validity of the claims made by both parties.
