Kuwaiti acquitted in fraud case

KUWAIT CITY, June 28: The Court of Appeals acquitted a citizen of embezzling KD40,000 in a case, in which he was accused of receiving the money for promoting products and goods owned by a company, valued at about KD5 million, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Attorney Hussein Al-Asfour, lawyer for the citizen, argued that the elements of the crime of embezzlement are not present, asserting that the incident is merely a civil and commercial dispute between the two parties and does not meet the criteria for a criminal offense. He explained that the disputed sums are related to the commercial relationship and transactions between the parties.
