Kuwait youth team joins First Division Volleyball League

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The Kuwait Volleyball Association’s Competitions Committee has completed the draws for the 2025–2026 General League and Super Cup, held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex in the presence of committee chairman Aref Al-Subaihi, secretary and international referee Nayef Al-Humaidan, and club representatives.

Ten clubs will compete in the General League this season: Kuwait, Kazma, Qadisiya, Arabi, Burgan, Shabab, Sulaibikhat, Yarmouk, Sahel, and Nasr. The competition will kick off following the conclusion of the Federation Cup, which begins tomorrow.

The opening round of fixtures will see Shabab face Qadsia, Sulaibikhat meet Nasr, Kazma clash with Kuwait Club, Sahel take on Yarmouk, and Arabi play Burgan. At the end of the General League, the top six clubs will qualify for the Premier League, while the seventh- to tenth-placed sides will move into the First Division. They will be joined there by the Kuwait national youth team, which is set to participate in the division this season.

Meanwhile, the Super Cup will be contested by four teams: Kuwait, Burgan, Arabi, and Qadsia. The semifinals pit Burgan against Arabi, while Kuwait Club will take on Qadsia for a place in the final.

Al-Subaihi praised the clubs for their cooperation with the federation, noting the strong preparations ahead of the new season. He expressed confidence that the upcoming competitions would be highly competitive and wished success to all teams.
