KUWAIT CITY, March 25: The Ministry of Interior announced that the State Security Agency has successfully dismantled a terrorist cell linked to the banned organization Hezbollah, following precise surveillance and monitoring operations. The network included five Kuwaiti citizens and one non-Kuwaiti individual whose citizenship has been revoked, while 14 fugitive defendants remain at large, including five citizens, five non-Kuwaitis with revoked citizenship, and two each of Iranian and Lebanese nationality.

Authorities said the cell was planning assassination operations targeting state symbols and leaders and recruiting others to carry out these tasks. The defendants admitted to espionage, membership in Hezbollah, and receiving advanced military training abroad in the use of weapons, explosives, surveillance techniques, and assassination skills.

The Ministry confirmed that the defendants have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action, while investigations continue to identify others linked to this network or other terrorist groups.

“The security of the State of Kuwait, its sovereignty, and national stability are a firm red line,” the Ministry said, warning that any threat to the country or collaboration with terrorist organizations will be met with the strictest legal measures.
