KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The Kuwait national team concluded its final local training session today before heading to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for a friendly match against Uzbekistan on Thursday, during the international break.
Kuwait Football Association board member Ayman Al-Husseini met with the players before the session, urging them to give their maximum effort and perform at their best to make the most of the training camp.
Following the Uzbekistan match, the team will travel to Dubai for a short training camp, which will include a second friendly against the Moroccan local team on October 14.
This final preparation phase comes ahead of Kuwait’s official match against Mauritania on November 14, part of the Arab Cup qualifiers, which will kick off in Doha, Qatar, in early December.
The sessions, led by Portuguese coach Helio Sousa, saw the return of Al-Qadsia players, who had completed their commitments in the Gulf Club Champions League against Zakho SC (Iraq) on September 30.
Kazma player Jarah Al-Huleili also joined the squad, replacing Salmiya’s Mehdi Dashti, who was sidelined due to an injury sustained during training.
Coach Sousa is focused on maximizing the benefits of the camp, ensuring players fully grasp and implement his tactical instructions ahead of his first official match with Kuwait against Mauritania.
