KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: The Higher Committee for Kuwaiti Citizenship Investigations, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, announced a significant decision following a committee meeting on Thursday, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a press statement, the committee announced its decision to revoke the Kuwaiti citizenship of several individuals, pending their submission to the Cabinet for approval. The citizenship revocation is based on serious grounds, including the loss of Kuwaiti citizenship due to dual citizenship -- a violation of Kuwaiti law. In addition, several citizenship certificates were revoked as they were obtained through fraudulent means and false statements (forgery). Finally, a number of other citizenship revocations were enacted in the best interest of the country. This underscores the commitment of the government to protect the integrity of the national identity.
