KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6 (KUNA): The Kuwait Winter Games Club has finalized contracts with seven professional foreign champions to compete in the 2025-2026 national ice hockey league.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, club president Fehaid Al-Ajmi announced the signings, which include Russian striker Elia Dordoyeski, defenders Ann Tsypin and Vladislav Zilopov, goalkeeper Nikita Elpidiev, Serbian striker Bojan Ziderfilc, and Belarusian forwards Valeri Bitzivic and Denis Shrivitc.

Al-Ajmi explained that the players will be distributed across the league’s teams, including the Warriors, Kuwait Stars, Ice Stars, Kuwait Camels, and Kuwait Mooseheads, as the national league prepares for its April tournament.

The Kuwaiti national ice hockey team is also gearing up for the World Cup (fourth tier), which Kuwait will host in April. Over the past three years, Kuwait has finished second once and third twice in international competitions.

Teams from Singapore, Armenia, Iran, Indonesia, and Malaysia are expected to participate in the upcoming international championship in Kuwait.
