KUWAIT CITY, July 15: The Kuwait Winter Games Club recently celebrated and honored a group of its outstanding high school male and female players for the academic year 2023/2024. This group includes 22 athletes from various sports within the club.
Fuhaid Al-Ajmi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized the club's annual commitment to recognizing its members, particularly those excelling in both academics and athletics across the five sports the club oversees. This initiative aims to motivate players to strive for academic excellence alongside their athletic endeavors, believing that success in academics positively influences their athletic performance.
Al-Ajmi expressed profound gratitude to Sheikh Jaber Bandar Al-Sabah, the honorary president of the club, for sponsoring and attending the ceremony. He also praised the support of Hamed Al-Hazeem, the Deputy Director General of the General Sports Authority for the Sports for All Sector, who attended and contributed to the event.
Fatima Al-Issa, a Kuwaiti national team figure skater, shared her and her peers' joy and appreciation for the club’s initiative, recognizing it as a significant encouragement for both academic and athletic excellence. The ceremony was also attended by club board members, team managers, and the parents of the honored students.
