Kuwait wins overall title at Arab Squash Championship

BEIRUT, Oct 13: Kuwait captured the overall championship title at the 30th Arab Squash Championship, held in Lebanon, after defeating Iraq 2-1 in the decisive final.

In the concluding team matches, Bader Al-Maghribi edged past Iraq’s Hassanein Dakhil 3-2, while Ammar Al-Tamimi sealed the victory for Kuwait with a 3-1 win over Iraq’s top seed Mohammed Farman. The triumph crowned Kuwait as the Arab champions, with Iraq taking second place and Qatar finishing third.

During the closing ceremony, Waleed Al-Sameea, President of both the Arab and Kuwaiti Squash Federations, awarded medals and trophies to the winners and standout teams, alongside Dr. Ali Jihad, Vice President of the Arab Federation, Fayez Al-Mutairi, Secretary-General, and Dhafir Kabara, President of the Lebanese Federation.

Kuwait’s victorious lineup featured Ammar Al-Tamimi, Ali Al-Ramzi, Bader Al-Maghribi, Abdullah Hani, Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi, and Jassem Al-Ghareeb, under the guidance of coaches Ahmed Al-Sayed and Falah Fayez, with Mashaal Al-Sharqawi serving as team administrator.

Expressing his delight, Ammar Al-Tamimi, the Arab individual champion, said he was proud to see Kuwait stand atop the Arab rankings, praising the federation for providing full support and preparation ahead of the tournament.
