Kuwait win bronze at worlds

Kuwaiti shooting has made a global mark in the ongoing World Shooting Championship in South Korea with bronze medal won by the duo of Khalid Al-Mudhaf and Sarah Al- Hawal in the joint trap contest. With this development, the team has created a new record for Kuwait in the championship that continues until April 30.

The event boasts of the participation of world-class male and female shooters in the largest congregation of shooters.

Team Kuwait grabbed bronze to create a new record for Kuwait after Al-Mudhaf and Al-Hawal met 145 targets out of 150, although they claimed the top spot in the preliminaries. The team came third behind the Slovakian and Australian teams that won gold and silver respectively. Russia claimed the fourth position, Italy came fifth and Spain sixth.

President of Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Associations Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi expressed delight and a sense of pride on the great accomplishment of the shooters.

He attributed the achievement to seriousness and determination of the shooters and consistent support of the administrative board of Kuwait Shooting Club.

He dedicated the victory to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah for their fatherly contributions and encouragement to all Kuwaiti sportsmen. He lauded the Honorary President of Kuwait Shooting Club Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud for his constant support. His gratitude also went to the Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri and Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Dr Hamoud Fulaitah over their numerous contributions to success of the team.
