Al-Rashedi bags bronze medal in Skeet competition

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16, (KUNA): Kuwaiti shooter Mansour Al-Rashedi has snatched a new medal for Kuwait on the last day of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s 9th International Shooting Grand Prix.

Al-Rashedi bagged the bronze medal of the Skeet competition on Wednesday, bringing Kuwait’s tally up to seven medals: four gold, one silver and two bronze. In a statement to reporters, Al-Rashedi said he was delighted to win the bronze medal, considering the tournament a strong preparation for Tokyo Olympic Games in summer.

In statements following the competition’s closing ceremony, Chairman of the Kuwaiti and Arab shooting federations Duaij Al-Otaibi hailed the high technical level shown during the various contests in lights of the participation of world’s champions and top athletes from Czech, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Italy and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to Kuwait.

Al-Otaibi considered the participation of Kuwait shooters in this strong tournament, in which brought together athletes from 30 Arab and non-Arab countries, was an opportunity for them to gain experiences.
