Kuwait will stay in my heart, says Bulgarian envoy

KUWAIT CITY, May 19: Outgoing Bulgarian Ambassador to Kuwait Dimitar Dimitrov stated that Kuwait will forever occupy a unique position in his heart. Dimitrov made the statement at a farewell reception commemorating the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in the country. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Mishal hosted the event, with several foreign dignitaries and a large group of Kuwaiti citizens in attendance. He described his tenure in the country as a major personal and professional milestone, reflecting on his history with the nation.

He revealed that his connection with Kuwait started almost a decade before his ambassadorial appointment in 2021, having previously served as a counselor and consul from 2012 to 2016. He highlighted the decades-long partnership between Bulgaria and Kuwait, expressing his aspiration for more collaboration in the tourism, culture, investment and economic sectors. He also looks forward to the resumption of direct air travel between the two countries. He lauded the Kuwaiti media for its vital support for the diplomatic community, pointing out that the nation offers a strong platform for ambassadors to represent their respective countries. He added that his years in Kuwait were defined by meaningful human interactions and valuable experiences, reiterating that the country will remain with him regardless of his future travels.
