Kuwait welcomes more skilled Indonesian workers: Al-Yaseen

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21: Kuwait welcomes the recruitment of more qualified and trained Indonesian workers in line with the needs of the Kuwaiti labor market, Kuwait Ambassador to Indonesia Khaled Al-Yaseen said Monday. Speaking to KUNA, Ambassador Al-Yaseen said Kuwait has adopted a range of legislation guaranteeing workers’ rights and regulating the work environment, calling for discussions on mechanisms to regulate the recruitment of Indonesian workers in a manner that safeguards the rights of all parties. Al-Yaseen made the remarks following a meeting with Indonesian Minister of Migrant Workers Protection Mukhtarudin, during which they discussed bilateral cooperation in labor affairs and ways to support and develop it. In turn, Minister Mukhtarudin said in a press statement that Kuwaiti-Indonesian relations are deep and friendly, expressing his country’s readiness to cooperate with Kuwait in providing professional cadres and skilled, trained workers for both the public and private sectors. He affirmed the Indonesian government’s keenness to ensure and protect the rights of its citizens and Indonesian workers abroad (KUNA)
