KUWAIT CITY, Mar 23: Kuwait’s National Cyber Security Center has issued a public advisory highlighting the risks associated with using unsecured public Wi-Fi networks, warning that hackers may intercept sensitive data exchanged over such connections.
The center cautioned that users’ passwords and personal information could be exposed, while some networks may be deliberately set up as fake hotspots to deceive the public. It also warned that logging into accounts over unsecured networks could lead to account breaches, and in some cases, malicious software may be installed on devices without users’ knowledge.
Authorities urged residents to exercise caution when accessing public Wi-Fi and to take appropriate security measures to protect their data and devices.
