KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: The Kuwait Municipality has released a detailed guide on the correct positioning and handling of the national flag during national holiday celebrations.

Director of Public Relations and municipal spokesperson Mohammed Sandan emphasized the importance of adhering to official regulations to preserve the dignity and symbolism of the Kuwaiti flag, thereby instilling national values among citizens and residents.

According to the guide, the flag should be positioned with the black stripe nearest the flagpole, the green stripe at the top, the white stripe in the middle, and the red stripe at the bottom. Sandan also noted that the flag should be raised quickly, lowered slowly, and maintained in a clean, undamaged condition.

The municipality outlined violations to avoid, including raising a torn or upside-down flag, displaying the flag with writing or drawings, letting it touch the ground, using it continuously on private buildings, or employing it for advertising or trademarks.

“Respecting the Kuwaiti flag is a duty for every citizen and resident,” Sandan said, urging the public to adhere to these regulations and reflect a civilized and respectful image of Kuwait during national celebrations.
