Kuwait volleyball team sweeps Egyptian Army in Cairo friendly

CAIRO, Sept. 30: Kuwait’s national volleyball team continued its preparations for the Arab Volleyball Championship with a convincing 3-0 victory over the Egyptian Army in Cairo.

The Blues won the third friendly of their training camp 29-27, 25-22, 25-23, as the coaching staff continued to assess the squad and fine-tune its tactical approach.

Kuwait had previously faced the Egyptian Army, Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab, and Petrojet in a series of warm-up matches designed to improve the players’ technical and physical readiness.

The team will conclude its Cairo camp with another friendly against Petrojet tomorrow before travelling to Jordan on Oct. 4.

The Arab Volleyball Championship will be held in Amman from Oct. 5 to 15.

Head coach Julian Alvarez and assistant Zaid Al-Kadhmi are using the camp to implement their tactical plans while building greater understanding between the experienced players and the younger members of the squad.

The coaching staff hopes the preparations will have Kuwait in peak condition when the tournament gets underway.
