Kuwait volleyball team faces Petrojet in third Cairo friendly

KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 26: Kuwait’s national volleyball team will play its third friendly of its training camp in Cairo today, facing Petrojet as part of its preparations for the Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship in Amman, Jordan, from Oct. 5 to 15.

Kuwait began its camp with a 2-2 draw against Egyptian Army  Jaish after four sets, before recording a 4-0 victory over Arab Contractors in its second friendly.

The warm-up matches are allowing the coaching staff to assess the players’ fitness and readiness while working on tactical and technical aspects ahead of the tournament.

Kuwait will face the Egyptian Army again next Tuesday in its fourth friendly, while the team is also considering a fifth and final warm-up against a national team before leaving for Jordan on Oct. 4.

The squad is continuing its intensive preparations in Cairo, with the coaching staff looking to raise the players’ technical and physical levels before the start of the competition.

Argentine head coach Julian Alvarez, assisted by national coach Zaid Al-Kadhmi, is also working to build greater cohesion between the experienced players and younger members of the squad while fine-tuning the tactical approach that will be used in the Arab Championship.
