Kuwait Volleyball League heats up as Al-Arabi, Kazma face off in key matchup

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: Today’s General Volleyball League will feature two highly anticipated matches at Al-Ittihad Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. The action begins with Al-Sahel taking on Sulaibikhat at 5:15 pm., followed by a clash between Kazma and Al-Arabi at 7:15 pm.

The current standings of the Volleyball League are led by Kuwait, Al-Qadisiya, and Burgan, each boasting 31 points. Matches involving the “White” and “Yellow” teams are postponed as they undergo training camps in Turkey and Dubai, respectively, preparing for the upcoming Second West Asian Club Championship in the Sultanate of Oman next month.

In a bid to secure a stronger position in the league, Al-Arabi and Kazma, both with 28 points, are set to engage in a crucial match. Al-Shabab follows with 18 points, Yarmouk with 16, Al-Tadamon with 12, Sulaibikhat with three points, and Al-Sahel without a score.The meeting between Al-Arabi and Kazma is deemed the most important and strongest, with both teams vying to take the lead or share the top spot if the result favors either team by 3-0 or 3-1.

Under the coaching of Iranian Jawad Shamami, Kazma, which includes German professional Igor and Bulgarian Fino, faces Al-Arabi led by Tunisian Niaz Salam. Al-Arabi’s roster features Dominican Santos Alves, a former Kazma player, and Tunisian Mohamed Al-Arabi.Looking ahead, the “Sons of Adailiya” are gearing up for their foreign camp in Turkey starting on February 2 for two weeks. This preparation precedes their participation in the 42nd Arab Club Championship for Men in Jordan from the 17th to the 29th of the same month, where Kazma will compete in the third group alongside Al-Hussein Youth Clubs of Jordan and northern Iraqi refineries.
