Kuwait Club intensifies training for the championship.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2: The Board of Directors of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation has announced the opening of nominations to fill vacant positions on the board, including Secretary-General and Board Member, starting Monday for a period of 10 days.

The announcement came during the board meeting held the day before yesterday at the federation headquarters in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. The meeting was chaired by Board President Dr. Jaber Al-Merri, and attended by Treasurer Talal Al-Adwani, Assistant Secretary Naif Al-Khamili, and board members Jassim Al-Felkawei and Naif Al-Felkawei.

The federation has scheduled the ordinary general assembly to hold the complementary elections on Tuesday, February 17, at 6:00 PM, with applications accepted at the federation headquarters in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Hall.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Club has completed preparations for the fourth edition of the West Asia Volleyball Clubs Championship, which the club will host from February 4 to 14. The tournament begins tomorrow in Kuwait. The team held a preparatory training camp in Turkey, concluding last Saturday, during which they played four friendly matches.

The tournament draw placed Kuwait Club, the host, in Group B alongside Lebanese club Shabab Al-Batroun, Qatari club Al-Wakra, and Bahraini club Al-Ahli. The second Kuwaiti team, Burgan Club, was drawn in Group C with Saudi club Al-Ittihad, Omani club Al-Seeb, and Bahraini club Dar Klab. Group A features three teams: Qatari club Al-Rayyan, Omani club Majees, and Iraqi club Ghaz Al-Janoub.

Kuwait Club’s squad includes professional players Estonian Veno and Canadian Hough, while the club has also enlisted Burgan’s Brazilian professional Costa, along with the return of Kuwait player Abdulaziz Al-Anzi, who had been on loan to Al-Nasr
