KUWAIT CITY, July 2: Ahead of the 2026–2027 season, the Kuwait Volleyball Federation Board has approved the formation of its working committees during its latest meeting, as part of preparations for the upcoming sports calendar. The new season will begin in September with the completion of remaining events from the 2025–2026 season, followed by the launch of new competitions.

The Competitions Committee will be chaired by Aref Al-Sobihi, with Dr. Jaber Al-Sharif as vice president, Abdullah Al-Najdi as rapporteur, and members Abdulhadi Mubarak Al-Mari and Shaima Ramadan.

The Referees Committee will be headed by international referee Ali Al-Ustadh, with Adel Bonashi as vice president, Dr. Ahmed Al-Eneizan as rapporteur, and members Ahmed Al-Saleh, Hussein Al-Tamimi, and Dr. Latifa Al-Khader.

The federation also approved the Beach Volleyball Committee, chaired by Dr. Abdullah Taleb, with Issa Al-Saleem as vice president, Abdulaziz Al-Holi as rapporteur, and Al-Anoud Al-Moanes as a member.

This step is part of the federation’s efforts to distribute responsibilities, enhance institutional work, and ensure the effective organization of competitions while improving technical and refereeing standards ahead of a busy domestic season.

Meanwhile, the national volleyball team is continuing its preparations in Cairo, where it is playing its third friendly match against Egypt “B” as part of its external training camp ahead of the West Asian Men’s Championship, scheduled to be held in Oman from July 11 to 22.

Team administrator Abdullah Al-Najdi said the team played a strong match against Egypt “B” and benefited from the competitive experience. He added that the squad also held a joint training session that included a practice match as part of its ongoing preparations.
