Kuwait veterans launch preparations for Gulf Cup

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: Kuwait’s national veterans team has kicked off preparations for the upcoming Gulf Cup with training sessions at the auxiliary pitch of Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium under head coach Thamer Enad and assistant coach Waleed Nassar.

The tournament will be held in Qatar from October 30 to November 5.

Around 30 players attended the opening training sessions, including Obeid Al-Shammari, Hamad Al-Saleh, Jamal Mubarak, Khaled Al-Fadli, Saleh Al-Buraiki, Hamad Al-Enezi, Yaqoub Al-Taher, Nahir Al-Shammari, Nawaf Al-Khaldi, Shehab Konkoni, Hussein Fadel, Nawaf Al-Mutairi, Ali Al-Shimali, Ali Maqsid, Jarrah Al-Otaibi, Khaled Khalaf and Mohammed Ashkanani.

The squad will be reduced to 23 players ahead of the team’s departure for Doha on October 28, as the veterans prepare to represent Kuwait in the regional competition.
