Kuwait, Uzbekistan eye multi-pronged ties boost

MOSCOW, Aug 30: Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan Turki Khaled Al-Mikrad on Sunday praised the depth of the historic relations between Kuwait and Uzbekistan, which date back to the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1994. He affirmed the two countries’ keenness to continue developing cooperation across various fields and to strengthen coordination and consultations on regional and international issues of common interest, in a manner that serves the interests of the two friendly countries. The ambassador made the remarks to KUNA on his participation in a reception held to mark the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with several ministers, senior officials, and heads and members of diplomatic missions accredited to the capital, Tashkent. During the ceremony, Ambassador Al-Mikrad was awarded a commemorative medal by presidential decree from President Mirziyoyev, marking the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence. On the occasion, Ambassador Al-Mikrad and all members of Kuwait Embassy in Tashkent extended their highest congratulations and best wishes to the leadership, government, and people of the friendly Republic of Uzbekistan, wishing the country continued progress and prosperity. He further affirmed that Kuwaiti-Uzbek relations are witnessing continued development across various fields, contributing to broadening the prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries. He also underscored their commitment to maintaining coordination and consultations on regional and international issues of common interest. (KUNA)
