Kuwait, US Strengthen Ties Against Terrorism and Cyber Threats

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6: As part of his official visit to the United States, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef met on Monday with US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem at the Department of Homeland Security headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and the United States in the field of security. Both sides discussed mechanisms to strengthen joint coordination, improve the exchange of information and expertise, and address emerging security challenges. Particular attention was given to collaboration in combating terrorism, organized crime, and cyber threats, to bolster the security and stability of both nations.

During the discussions, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef highlighted the long-standing and strategic relationship between Kuwait and the United States. He underscored the importance of continuing to develop security cooperation in accordance with the directives of Kuwait’s political leadership, aimed at enhancing national security and expanding joint efforts across multiple levels of engagement.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Fahad expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Secretary Noem, reaffirming Kuwait’s commitment to ongoing coordination and cooperation. He emphasized Kuwait’s determination to work closely with the United States to safeguard shared interests and strengthen security in both friendly countries.
