Kuwait unwavering on Palestine

KUWAIT CITY, June 1, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said on Tuesday that the State of Kuwait remains unwavering in its stance and support of the just Palestinian cause. His Highness the Amir’s statement came during his reception at Bayan of His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah who was accompanied by visiting Palestinian counterpart Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh and his delegation. His Highness the Amir reiterated that Kuwait would also be steadfast in its support of the Palestinian people until they achieve their dream in an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, saying that such lawful aspiration came in line with international resolutions on this matter and also the Arab peace initiative.

He affirmed that the Palestinian cause was, and still is, the central issue for Kuwait as well as the Arab and Muslim worlds, wishing the Palestinian government and people security, peace, and triumph. On his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Shtayyeh expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the efforts of the State of Kuwait, leadership and people, in the support of Palestinians’ aspirations. Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, and a score of other officials attended the reception.
