Kuwait Club players celebrate after winning the Super Cup.

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: The Kuwait Handball Association is outlining a comprehensive strategy to enhance the capabilities of our national teams across all age groups. This initiative involves collaborative efforts from the Federation’s training staff, national teams, technical staff, and clubs. The primary goal is to cultivate robust teams capable of competing effectively in upcoming international tournaments.

Khaled Talib, the Treasurer of the Handball Association, affirmed this commitment, stating, “We initiated the development of youth and junior teams during the Montenegro camp last August. This included a series of trial matches, providing valuable experience against European teams and friendly matches with the Saudi national team at Arena Mall.”

Looking ahead, Taleb emphasized the continuation of the preparation journey during the upcoming summer. Despite acknowledging the challenges, he expressed confidence in the players’ dedication to the Blue Jerseys and their ambitious pursuit of reaching the World Cup finals.

“We are actively pursuing participation in various external tournaments, including those in the Gulf and Arab regions. Plans for an external camp will be finalized later, preceding our involvement in the Asian Championship. The technical staff is focused on assembling players at different intervals to ensure consistent team performance,” added Taleb.

In a separate development, the Kuwait Club handball team secured the Super Cup title in its fourth edition. “Al-Abyad” emerged victorious in the final match against Al-Qadisiya with a score of 40-35. Kazma claimed third place by defeating Burgan 37-28 in the match determining third and fourth places.

Shabib Al-Hajri, the Vice President of the Handball Federation, along with Secretary Qayed Al-Adwani, Assistant Secretary Abdullah Al-Dhiyab, and Federation member Mubarak Al-Daihani, presented Kuwait with the Super Cup, awarded the silver medal to Al-Qadisiya, and honored Kazma with the bronze.

It is noteworthy that “Al-Kuwait” had previously secured the Super Cup title in the first and second editions, while Kazma claimed victory in the third edition.
