In a statement marking the 59th anniversary of the university’s establishment, Dr. Al-Mailam noted that since its founding in 1966, Kuwait University has played a vital role in nation-building by advancing education, scholarship, and scientific knowledge.

She said the university has continually updated its academic programs to keep pace with rapid labor market changes, with a focus on enhancing graduate quality and equipping students with competitive skills that meet emerging workforce needs. Dr. Al-Mailam highlighted Kuwait University’s standing as a leading research institution, supported by advanced laboratories, specialized centers, and modern scientific technologies that enable researchers to pursue innovative solutions to national and global challenges. Scientific research, she stressed, remains a strategic priority aligned with the state's development objectives and future directions.

She expressed pride in the strong support extended to the university by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
