KUWAIT CITY, March 23: Air defence systems across Kuwait and other Gulf nations were activated early Monday as a fresh wave of missile and drone threats heightened tensions on Day 24 of the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict.
The Kuwaiti Armed Forces General Staff confirmed that air defence units are actively responding to hostile aerial targets at 2.20 am. Authorities stated that any explosions heard across the country are the result of interception operations, reassuring residents that defence systems are functioning as intended.
Officials urged the public to strictly follow safety instructions issued by relevant authorities amid the heightened alert.
As the day progressed, the United Arab Emirates announced that its air defence forces were engaging incoming missile and drone threats, advising residents to remain indoors and adhere to official guidance.
Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that air defence systems intercepted and destroyed aerial threats in the Eastern Region. Authorities also reported that two ballistic missiles were detected heading toward Riyadh—one was successfully intercepted, while the other landed in an uninhabited area without causing casualties.
