KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: Kuwait's U-18 basketball team has been placed in a "tough" Group B alongside Iran, South Korea, and India, following the draw for the Asian Youth Cup finals.

Group A features Australia, Chinese Taipei, Lebanon, and Mongolia. Group C includes China, Japan, Kazakhstan, and Qatar, while Group D consists of the Philippines, New Zealand, Jordan, and Indonesia.

According to the tournament system, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. Kuwait will face Iran in its first match on September 2, followed by a match against South Korea the next day, and will conclude its preliminary round on September 4 against India.

The team qualified for the Asian Cup finals after securing second place in the Asian qualifiers held in Kuwait last weekend, alongside the Qatari team. Kuwait will head to an external training camp to prepare for the Asian Cup, where it will play several friendly matches to enhance its technical and physical readiness.
