Kuwait TV wins the 2025 Media Excellence Award for Best Television Report

CAIRO, Egypt, Nov 27:  Kuwait Television and the Development Sector of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information won the Arab League’s 2025 Media Excellence Award on Wednesday, recognizing outstanding works in audio, visual, and print media across Arab countries.

The award ceremony, held at the conclusion of the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, celebrated winners under the theme “Arab Youth and New Media.”

Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Syrian Minister of Information Hamza Mustafa, who chaired the council session, honored the award recipients.

Kuwait Television received the award for Best Television Report for its work titled Youth’s Relationship with Social Media. Iraq Television won the award for Best Documentary on Digital Youth.

In radio, Algerian Radio won Best Radio Report on Youth, Social Media, and Artificial Intelligence, while Egypt’s Youth and Sports Radio was recognized for Best Radio Awareness Report for Youth.

In print journalism, Emirati journalist Hazza Abu Al-Raisi received the award for Best Investigative Report titled Arab Youth and New Media, and Jordan’s Al-Dustour won for Best Opinion Column on the impact of hate speech on youth.

In digital media, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) earned Best Photograph for Faisal AlWahima’s work, and Bandari Habram won Best Digital Investigation on youth media sources. Amal Nawfal from Palestine was honored for Best Digital Video.

The Ministerial Council also recognized individuals for their contributions to Arab media, including Ibrahim Matqi, Director of Development and Follow-up at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information; Khalid Al-Malik, Editor-in-Chief of Saudi newspaper Al-Jazirah; Minister Ahmed Assaf, overseeing Palestinian media; and Ali Al-Sada, Director of Qatar TV.
