KUWAIT CITY, July 11: The General Traffic Department has issued a set of safety guidelines for motorists to follow in the event of a vehicle breakdown, stressing that protecting road users remains one of its top priorities.

Motorists are advised to move their vehicles to the farthest right side of the road whenever possible, immediately switch on hazard lights, place a warning triangle at least 100 meters behind the vehicle, and call the emergency hotline (112), providing the exact location.

The department also urged drivers to carry out regular vehicle maintenance and check tire condition and air pressure, particularly during the summer months when high temperatures increase the risk of tire damage and blowouts.

Officials said following these precautions helps reduce traffic accidents, improves road safety, and enables emergency teams to reach stranded motorists quickly and provide the necessary assistance.
