Kuwait Traffic Department Crushes Two Vehicles After Reckless Driving Arrests

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Kuwait’s General Directorate of Traffic arrested two individuals in separate cases of reckless driving and crushed their vehicles, as authorities stepped up measures against dangerous driving practices that endanger lives and property.

In the first case, a suspect was identified after a video showed him driving recklessly in a vehicle without license plates. During the investigation, the Security Control Department received information about his use of the vehicle during the early morning hours. The vehicle was spotted in the Al-Wafra agricultural area and tracked to Umm Al-Hayman, where the driver was arrested. The vehicle had no identifying information, and the suspect admitted to the reckless driving.

In the second case, the Operations Room received a report of reckless driving in the Al-Wafra agricultural area. Traffic patrols were dispatched and located the vehicle, but the driver fled. He was later arrested in coordination with the Security Control Department.

The necessary legal measures were taken against both suspects, who were referred to the Central Prison. The two vehicles were impounded and confiscated for the benefit of the Ministry of Interior under Article 33 bis of the Traffic Law, with footage released by the authorities showing the vehicles being crushed.

The General Directorate of Traffic warned that reckless and irresponsible driving would not go unpunished, stressing that attempts to flee would not prevent authorities from pursuing and arresting violators.

“Those who endanger lives and property will face legal action,” the Directorate said, reaffirming its determination to take firm action against dangerous traffic violations.
