KUWAIT CITY, July 20: Kuwait's General Directorate of Traffic issued 23,567 traffic violations during intensified security and traffic campaigns conducted across the country from July 13 to July 19, 2026, as part of efforts to improve road safety and enforce traffic laws.
The campaigns resulted in the detention of 29 individuals in traffic custody, referral of 9 juveniles to Juvenile Prosecution, and the impoundment of 271 vehicles and four motorcycles. Authorities also handled 2,632 traffic reports and responded to 927 road accidents, including 164 injury-related collisions.
On the security side, officers arrested a person in possession of narcotics and another in an abnormal condition, both referred to the General Directorate for Combating Drugs. Authorities also detained 35 individuals with expired residencies, one person without identification, and 36 wanted persons, while seizing 26 wanted vehicles.
The General Directorate of Traffic said field campaigns will continue across all governorates, urging motorists to follow traffic regulations and cooperate with security personnel to enhance road safety.
