KUWAIT CITY, May 25: The General Traffic Department has launched a field campaign targeting vehicles and trailers violating traction and towing safety conditions on major roads across the country, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and reduce hazardous violations.
The campaign focused on ensuring compliance with Ministerial Resolution No. 4391 of 2015, with inspection teams checking essential safety requirements such as reflector tape, lighting systems, safety equipment, and secure load fastening. Officers also verified proper connection standards between towing vehicles and trailers.
Authorities intensified enforcement against violations, including carrying passengers inside trailers during towing, exceeding legal speed limits, failing to drive in the extreme right lane, and breaching permitted trailer dimensions and load restrictions such as height, length, and weight.
The Traffic Department also stressed the importance of detaching towing equipment after completing operations and ensuring that towing vehicles are properly registered in accordance with approved ownership procedures.
Officials reaffirmed that such field campaigns will continue across different regions, urging motorists to strictly adhere to traffic laws and instructions to safeguard lives and property and maintain road safety for all users.
