KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: Kuwait’s General Directorate of Traffic conducted an extensive traffic campaign across several areas of the country, recording 2,756 violations and taking legal action against motorists and wanted individuals. The campaign involved mobile traffic patrols and radar monitoring to curb dangerous driving practices and improve road safety. Authorities also detained five violators, referred two juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution, impounded 232 vehicles, and arrested 14 wanted persons along with three wanted vehicles.
Violations recorded:
- 35 speeding violations
- 243 lane-crossing violations
- 940 violations for obstructing the flow of traffic
- 1,508 violations for failing to use turn signals
- 30 violations for no-parking/blocking
- 5 violators detained
- 2 juveniles referred to the Juvenile Prosecution
- 14 wanted individuals referred to the competent authorities
- 3 wanted vehicles referred to the competent authorities
- 232 vehicles impoundes
The Traffic Directorate said field campaigns will continue across Kuwait to monitor violations that endanger road users. It urged motorists to comply with traffic laws, road rules, proper driving etiquette and designated speed limits to help reduce accidents and protect lives.
