Kuwait To Verify Qualifications And Health Standards Of Food Workers

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has issued Administrative Circular No. (11) of 2025, directing inspection teams to carry out a thorough audit of all workers engaged in food handling activities across the country. The directive is issued in accordance with Article (32) of the Regulations for Granting Work Permits and aligns with the official adoption of the Gulf Guide for Occupational Classification and Description (ISCO-8).

According to the Authority, the circular is the result of joint coordination with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, reflecting a shared commitment to standardizing operational procedures and strengthening oversight in the food sector. The audit aims to ensure that all personnel comply with professional standards, hygiene regulations, and health requirements essential to the safe handling of food.

The Authority emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance workplace safety, protect public health, and uphold regulatory compliance in one of Kuwait’s most critical service sectors. Inspection teams have been tasked with verifying qualifications, work permits, and adherence to occupational standards, ensuring that all food handling personnel meet the mandated requirements.
