Kuwait to select 15 international youth coaches

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The Public Authority for Youth and Sports will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. today at its headquarters in Al-Riggae to announce the selection of 15 coaches to work with the youth teams of 15 Kuwaiti football clubs.

The coaches will be selected from around 150 CVs submitted by candidates from various countries as part of a joint initiative between the authority and the Kuwait Football Association to recruit international coaches for the under-12 age group.

Acting Director General Bashar Abdullah said the project reflects the importance of laying a strong foundation for young players and developing them properly from an early age. As a former player, he said he understands the importance of this stage in a player's career.

Abdullah explained that the coaches were evaluated according to specific qualifications and criteria following a review of nearly 150 CVs. The process was carried out in cooperation with FIFA and specialized international programs.

The 15 selected coaches will be assigned to 15 Kuwaiti clubs to work with their youth sectors.

Abdullah stressed that the authority attaches great importance to youth development and age-group teams and is committed to providing young players with the appropriate environment to develop their abilities.

He thanked everyone involved in the project over the past three months and expressed hope that its positive impact would become evident in the coming period.
