KUWAIT CITY, July 28: The Al-Ojairi Scientific Center revealed Kuwait will enter the penultimate phase of the summer season, known as “Al-Mirzam” on Tuesday, July 29, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press release, the center explained that the Al-Mirzam period will last for 13 days, during which temperatures are expected to be extremely high. This period is also referred to as “Jamrat Al-Qayz”, meaning “the fire of summer”, indicating peak intensity of heat. Al-Mirzam marks a new phase in the summer season, followed by “Al-Kulaibin”, known for its humidity, and then “Suhail”.

The center highlighted that the date palm harvesting will begin next Wednesday. It explained that the name “Al- Mirzam” is derived from the star of the same name, astronomically known as “Sirius”, which is known to be the brightest star in the sky due to its striking brilliance.
