KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8 : The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) is preparing to reinstate its home delivery service for ready-made Civil ID cards after a suspension of nearly four years, allowing citizens and residents to receive their cards without visiting the authority's headquarters.

Informed sources told Al-Rai that the move follows directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Chairman of PACI's Board of Directors, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, to reactivate the service and expand delivery options for citizens and expatriates.

The service was suspended around four years ago following the non-renewal of the contract with the specialised company responsible for delivering Civil ID cards.

Its planned reinstatement is part of broader efforts to speed up card issuance and delivery, reduce the need for personal visits to PACI offices and expand the use of electronic systems in line with Kuwait's digital transformation drive.

In this connection, PACI has officially announced the opening of prequalification for specialised companies operating in Kuwait that are interested in providing Civil ID card delivery services to the public.

The authority said the selection process would follow an open prequalification system. Interested companies must be licensed and registered in Kuwait to conduct the relevant activities, maintain valid commercial records and fulfil all mandatory qualification requirements.

The initiative is expected to provide citizens and residents with greater convenience and flexibility in obtaining their Civil ID cards once the service is officially relaunched.
