Kuwait to host XCAT World Powerboat Championship round in November

BEIGING, Oct 12: The International Powerboat Federation (UIM) has officially approved Kuwait as the host of the second and penultimate round of the 2025 XCAT World Powerboat Championship, scheduled to take place from November 20 to 22. The event will be organized by the Kuwait Sea Sports Club in cooperation with the Public Authority for Sport.

According to the club, the hosting agreement was signed during the UIM General Assembly held recently in China, where it was also decided that the final round of the championship will be held in Dubai on December 12.

The signing ceremony brought together key figures, including UIM Secretary-General Thomas Kurth, UIM President Raffaele Chiulli, XCAT Championship Director Sebastiano Pelle, Kuwait Sea Sports Club Secretary-General Khaled Al-Foudari, Powerboat and Wakeboard Committee Chairman Ali Al-Shammari, and Fujairah Marine Sports Club Executive Director Ahmed Al-Balushi.

Al-Foudari described Kuwait’s selection as a significant international achievement for the country’s marine sports sector, highlighting Kuwait’s strong record in organizing world-class championships and races.

Meanwhile, Al-Shammari expressed his appreciation to the international federation for its confidence in Kuwait, noting that the decision reflects the nation’s prominent global reputation and its commitment to advancing marine sports.
