KUWAIT CITY, July 15: Waleed Al-Ansari, Deputy Director General of the Youth Sector at the Public Authority for Youth (PAY), emphasized that hosting the "World Robot Olympiad 2024" in Kuwait, scheduled for next October, offers a unique platform to showcase the talents of Kuwaiti youth in technological, technical, and scientific fields.
During a speech at a press conference on Sunday at the "Ahmed Al-Jaber" Oil and Gas Exhibition, located at the headquarters of the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Al-Ansari announced the event, which will be held under the theme "Allies of the Earth." He highlighted that the authority's support for the Olympiad creates a conducive environment that encourages youth to innovate and create.
He expressed his hope to see significant achievements by Kuwaiti youth in this global scientific forum, dedicated to ages 8 to 19, and voiced his pride in collaborating on the Olympiad, which underscores Kuwait's leading position in technology and innovation.
Karen Pepelaar, Head of Program Development at the World Robot Olympiad, noted in her speech that hosting this major event in Kuwait, with participation from youth representing approximately 100 countries, is crucial for technological development in Kuwait. She looks forward to seeing Kuwaiti teams excel and achieve remarkable results.
Musaed Al-Kout, the official organizer of the World Robot Olympiad in Kuwait, explained that the event aims to highlight Kuwait's technological advancement and sustainability, aligning with the country's wise political leadership's directives to focus on youth energy to realize the vision of New Kuwait 2035.
Al-Kout added that this exceptional event will be organized through distinguished cooperation between government agencies, the private sector, and civil society institutions, ensuring an integrated system that enhances the desired outcomes. He expressed his delight in Kuwait hosting this event.
He urged all youth and the Kuwaiti community, including citizens and residents, to participate in this significant event by registering through the official competition website (http://www.wro-kuwait.org).
Abrar Al-Mahdi, Head of Public Relations at Kuwait Oil Company, stated in her speech that the company's hosting of this global competition aims to raise awareness of environmental and renewable energy sciences. She expressed her hope for excellent results from the Kuwaiti teams participating in this prominent global scientific forum.
