Kuwait to ‘host’ Championships

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: Kuwait will host on October 13-16 the fourth Asian Youth Athletics Championships 2022 with the participation of around 400 athletes and staff from 33 Asian countries. On the tournament, chairman of the Kuwait Athletics Federation Sayyar Al-Enezi told KUNA that Kuwait was keen on hosting this prestigious tournament. He affirmed that the federation was ready to host the championships featuring the best youth athletes in Asia, adding that the track and field stadium in Kaifan area would be the venue were competitions to be held.
Kuwaiti athletes are ready to take on their peers from other Asian countries, he added, commending the support allocated by the state in preparation for the championship. Countries participating the tournament include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Brunei, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, Maldives, Philippines, Singapore, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and hosts Kuwait.(KUNA)
